LIGOtools Package: dtt
This package contains a version of the Diagnostic Test Tools utilties
for offline use. Type dtt to
bring up the main menu, from which you can launch a Fourier Tools
window, etc.
Also included in this package are fantom, a utility for copying and
transforming LIGO data (e.g. retrieving data from tape or from the
HPSS archive, and writing it to local disk or to a DMT shared-memory
partition); lidax, a graphical
user interface to the functionality of fantom; and a number
of lower-level utility routines.

History of changes
Notes
- At present, this package is only available as a binary
distribution for Solaris.
- The distribution file installs a complete set of the
root libraries for use only by the dtt programs.
This frees you from having to install root separately, yet
it should not interfere with any version of root that you
might already have installed. Note that these libraries make the
distribution file rather big.
- If you want to be able
to run Data Viewer, you must also have the dataviewer
LIGOtools package installed.
- Color support has been improved in DTT version 2.0. For best
results, the computer should be in 24-bit TrueColor mode. Here are
instructions for doing this.

Distribution files
Normally, you should use the ligotools_update utility to
download and install new packages or new versions of existing
packages, since it automatically figures out what packages need to be
updated. However, if you wish to do so manually, then click on the
name of the appropriate distribution file (below) with the
right mouse button and choose "Save Link As..." from
the popup menu. Note that you must save it on your disk with exactly
the same name as it has on this web site. After the file has been
downloaded, do:
ligotools_install <file>
where <file> is the file which was downloaded. This
procedure will be quicker if the environment variable
LIGOTOOLS is set to the main LIGOtools directory.
